What is Hacktoberfest? Hacktoberfest is a celebration of the open source initiative. Participants get the opportunity to learn how open source
software development works and get exposure to industry-standard tools like GitHub.
On October 15th, we'll host Altamont's first Hacktoberfest event! Over the course of two hours, everyone who attends will make contributions to several different pieces of open source software. Even if you've never written code before, you can still participate!
By signing up and completing the challenges, you'll win a free, limited edition shirt from GitHub and get a pack of awesome tech-themed stickers to slap on your laptop, favorite teacher's door, or dog.
We'll also have pizza, drinks, and other snacks available for all participants. This event is open to ALL students, faculty, and staff. To get started, sign up below!
